Prabowo Requests TNI Vessels Be Deployed to Support 2026 Lebaran Exodus
Jakarta (ANTARA) — President Prabowo Subianto has requested that vessels operated by the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) be made available to support the smooth flow of the 2026 Lebaran exodus.
“Possibly the Navy and Army have vessels that could be deployed and coordinated with the Transport Minister,” Prabowo stated during remarks at a plenary Cabinet session at the State Palace in Jakarta on Friday.
The President instructed TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto and National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo to mobilise resources and assets available to the TNI and National Police to facilitate the exodus period.
Prabowo indicated that vessels from the Navy and Army could be coordinated with Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi to support transportation during the exodus period. Additionally, the President encouraged the National Police to utilise various assets and resources available to facilitate the Lebaran exodus.
“I believe the National Police also have assets and resources to assist,” said the Head of State.
President Prabowo convened the plenary Cabinet session at the State Palace in Jakarta on Friday afternoon, attended by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, all Cabinet ministers, Presidential Special Envoys, and heads of state institutions.
In his address, Prabowo discussed various matters concerning the upcoming 2026 Lebaran exodus period. He noted that whilst the world faces considerable uncertainty, the wheels of the national economy must continue turning.
The Head of State expressed hope that this year’s Lebaran exodus would proceed safely and smoothly, revitalising all economic sectors.
“To all ministries and agencies, I hope we implement thorough preparations for Lebaran. We must ensure that this year’s exodus proceeds well, safely, comfortably and with great joy. Prioritise road safety and prepare all aspects carefully,” President Prabowo said.
