Prabowo Requests Best Care for Victims of Train Accident in East Bekasi
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto visited the victims of the Argo Bromo Anggrek train and KRL accident who are being treated at Chasbullah Abdulmajid Hospital in Bekasi City on Tuesday morning (28/4/2026).
During his visit to Bekasi Hospital, Prabowo also requested that the victims being treated at the hospital receive the best care.
“In the President’s visit earlier, the first thing he instructed was for all victims being treated to be given the best care,” said State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi in his statement on Tuesday.
He said that Prabowo visited the victims this morning before departing for a working visit out of town.
“And today, the President took the time this morning to visit the victims at Bekasi Hospital before the President departs for out of town to carry out several working visit agendas,” he said.
“He took the time to briefly discuss and listen to input from the hospital director regarding the handling of the victims and the needs of equipment at the hospital,” he added.
Prabowo also received a report on last night’s incident from Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi and PT KAI President Director Bobby Rasyidin, who accompanied him during his time at Bekasi City Hospital.
“And he ordered that several investigative steps be taken, of course. He also requested that measures be considered to anticipate so that things like this do not happen again,” Prasetyo emphasised.
Prabowo arrived around 08:36 WIB in a white Maung vehicle with RI 1 plates.
He wore a brown service uniform and was accompanied by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya and several bodyguards.
Upon arriving at the hospital, Prabowo shook hands with several officials who had arrived earlier, including Bekasi City Mayor Tri Adhianto, Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri, and hospital management officials.
He did not provide any statements to reporters and proceeded directly with the visit to the treatment rooms.
Based on data on the hospital’s information board, 52 injured victims are being treated at Bekasi City Hospital, while three other victims were declared dead at the health facility.
However, hospital staff stated that the data is still provisional and continues to be updated in line with the evacuation process at the incident site.
