Prabowo Reportedly Set to Reshuffle Cabinet Again Today
Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto is reportedly set to conduct a reshuffle of several ministers in the Merah Putih Cabinet on Monday, 27 April 2026. The head of state is said to swear in a number of officials, starting from agency heads, ministers, and coordinating ministers (menko) in stages beginning today.
Meanwhile, names of several figures trusted by Prabowo to fill important positions are circulating. Based on information, the Head of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) M Qodari is reportedly shifting to become the head of the Indonesian Government Communication Agency (Bakom) as well as the presidential spokesperson. Qodari’s position at KSP is said to be filled by former Army Chief of Staff (Kasad) General TNI (Ret.) Dudung Abdurachman, who currently serves as the president’s special advisor on national defence.
Furthermore, former Head of the Presidential Communication Office, Hasan Nasbi, is reportedly to be sworn in by Prabowo as the president’s special affairs officer for communication. Former Minister of Protection for Indonesian Migrant Workers (P2MI) Abdul Kadir Karding is also reportedly returning to the cabinet as the head of the National Quarantine Agency.
Another name circulating is the General Chairman of the All-Indonesian Confederation of Trade Unions (KSPSI), who is also a former head of the National Agency for Placement and Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (BNP2TKI), Jumhur Hidayat, reportedly to be sworn in as the Minister of Environment, replacing Hanif Faisol Nurofiq.
Meanwhile, Hanif Faisol is reportedly to fill the position of deputy coordinating minister (wamenko) for food affairs.
Separately, Qodari emphasised that the reshuffle of the Merah Putih Cabinet is the prerogative of President Prabowo. He asked the public to await further developments from the head of state.
“That is all the president’s prerogative. We just wait for the developments from Mr President,” said Qodari.
To date, there has been no official statement from the Presidential Palace regarding the cabinet reshuffle rumours and the names to be sworn in.
On the other hand, the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs (Wamendagri), Bima Arya, also stated that cabinet reshuffle matters are the prerogative of Prabowo as president.
“Well, that is the prerogative of Mr President,” said Bima Arya to reporters at the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) building in Central Jakarta.
Bima Arya only explained that his side is prepared for all possible scenarios. Most importantly, as he said, all ministers in the Merah Putih Cabinet work well.
