Prabowo Removes Dadan Hindayana from Position as Head of National Nutrition Agency
President Prabowo Subianto has removed Dadan Hindayana from his position as the Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN). The Head of State made this decision on Tuesday, 2 June 2026.
The Minister of State Secretary, Prasetyo Hadi, stated that President Prabowo has decided to appoint Nanik Sudaryati Deyang, who previously served as the Deputy Head of the BGN, to replace Dadan Hindayana.
Prasetyo noted that the National Nutrition Agency plays a strategic role in supporting the government’s agenda to improve public nutrition. Furthermore, he mentioned that President Prabowo conducts daily monitoring and evaluations of the entire performance of the Red and White Cabinet, including the National Nutrition Agency.
During this evaluation process, Prabowo received input from various parties, including ministries and the public, who are the beneficiaries of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) project.
“After approximately one and a half years of monitoring and evaluation, today, Tuesday, 2 June 2026, the President has decided to change the leadership of the National Nutrition Agency,” Prasetyo Hadi said at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta.
In addition to the Head of the BGN, three leaders were dismissed: Dadan Hindayana, Inspector General (Ret.) Sony Sanjaya, and Lieutenant General (Ret.) Lodewyk Pusung. They have been replaced by Nanik S. Deyang as Head of the BGN, alongside Agustina Arumsari and Major General Trenggono as the two deputies.
Prasetyo Hadi expressed hope that the new leadership of the BGN would immediately undertake internal consolidation, strengthen cross-ministerial and institutional coordination, and enhance cooperation with provincial and district-level local governments to ensure all BGN programmes continue to run effectively.
The Gerindra politician also hopes that the new BGN leadership can accelerate the implementation of Prabowo’s priority programmes, improve performance, enhance organisational governance, and deliver tangible benefits to the community, particularly in efforts to improve nutrition, health, and Indonesia’s human resources.
