Prabowo Reminds Young Civil Servants Their Path of Service Is Fraught with Challenges

President Prabowo Subianto reminded the Young Government Officials of IPDN’s XXXIII cohort of 2026 that choosing to become part of the government apparatus is a path of service fraught with challenges. According to him, the role even demands readiness to sacrifice body and soul for the nation.

“Today you have chosen a noble path in life, a path of serving the people, the nation, and the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia,” he said in his speech at the Inauguration Ceremony of the XXXIII IPDN Young Government Officials of 2026, in West Java on Wednesday (29 January).

Prabowo stressed that the path chosen by the IPDN graduates is not an easy one.

“The path you have chosen is not an easy one, not a light one, but a path full of obstacles, full of hardship, full of challenges, and above all, one that requires sacrifice. Indeed, my children, you have all chosen to be ready to give your body and soul for the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia,” said the Head of State.

He asked the Young Government Officials always to be present when the public faces problems.

“Your lives are full of demands from the nation and the state. You must be officials who are present when the people are facing hardship. You must be a beacon of hope. You must be a pillar of support and leadership for society,” he explained.

Prabowo also expressed appreciation for the graduates who had been deployed to assist disaster response efforts before being officially inaugurated.

“All of you are the cohort of officials who spent a full month on the ground helping to manage the disaster in Aceh. Even before your inauguration, you were already called upon to work and help the people in their time of difficulty,” he concluded.

President Prabowo said the IPDN class of 2026 will take up the baton of government as Indonesia breaks into the world’s four largest economies over the next 25 years.

Inaugurating 1,204 IPDN Young Government Officials, President Prabowo reminded civil servants that they are the children of the people and must prioritise the public interest.

President Prabowo said the young IPDN officials will lead the bureaucracy as Indonesia is projected to join the world’s top four economic powers. He affirmed that the people do not need a convoluted bureaucracy.

Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian attended the graduation of 1,404 IPDN students of the 2025/2026 academic year in Jatinangor, with a focus on knowledge-based bureaucracy.
