President Prabowo Subianto wished all his ministers well in their work despite it being a public holiday.

Today is a national holiday as it coincides with the commemoration of the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday in 2026.

However, despite the public holiday, a number of ministers still attended the launch and groundbreaking of the 100 GWp (gigawatt peak) solar power plant project at the Java–Bali Sea Crossing Operation Monument in Gilimanuk, Jembrana Regency, Bali, on Tuesday, 25 August 2026.

“Thank you to all of you, my brothers and sisters, happy working. Today is an important day, even though it is a holiday, even though it is the Prophet’s birthday,” said Prabowo.

Prabowo explained that ministers must continue to strive and work for the people even on public holidays.

Prabowo stressed that there are no public holidays in the Red and White Cabinet he leads.

“Indeed, in the Red and White Cabinet there are probably almost no public holidays,” he said.

Furthermore, Prabowo explained that working, including on holidays, is a form of service to the nation and the people of Indonesia.

“And that is a risk, a risk of service. Those who cannot handle it may step aside. Many want to replace you,” said Prabowo.
