President Prabowo Subianto has reminded the young administrative officers of the Institute of Domestic Governance (IPDN) Class XXXIII always to prioritise the people’s interests when carrying out their duties as civil servants (ASN).

According to Prabowo, becoming a young administrative officer is not merely about holding a rank or position, but about dedicating oneself to serving the community. The honour of a state official is measured by the benefit felt by the people.

“Brothers and sisters, you are servants of the people. You must serve, protect and shelter the community, shelter the Indonesian people to the best of your ability,” the President said in his address at the Inauguration Ceremony of IPDN Class XXXIII Young Administrative Officers in 2026, held at the Parade Ground of the IPDN Campus in Jatinangor, Sumedang Regency, West Java, on Wednesday (29/7/2026).

Prabowo said the path chosen by these young officers is not an easy one. On the contrary, it is full of obstacles, difficulties and challenges. Therefore, sacrifice, both body and soul, is required for the sake of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).

He also expressed appreciation for the officers who had gone directly to assist disaster relief efforts in Aceh for a month before completing their education. According to him, this experience shows that even before their inauguration, the officers were already accustomed to being present to help communities facing hardship.

“You must be administrative officers who are present when the people are facing difficulties. You must be a beacon of hope. You must be a pillar of support and leadership for the community,” he said.

Prabowo explained that loyalty to the people is realised by placing the community’s interests above personal and group interests. Wherever they serve, young administrative officers are the face and symbol of the state as part of the state apparatus. Therefore, society will judge the state’s presence through the attitude, behaviour and performance of its officials.

He emphasised that when officials work well, the people’s trust and love for the state will grow stronger. Conversely, when officials disappoint the public, it is not only the official’s personal reputation that is tarnished, but also the people’s trust in the state.

“Our people do not need convoluted bureaucracy. Our people do not need leaders who fail to work to the best of their ability. The people need, and even demand, officials who work honestly, with discipline and integrity, free from corruption, willing to make decisions, and always present when the people need them,” he said.

Prabowo expressed hope that the newly inaugurated young administrative officers will be able to realise a government that is excellent, efficient, disciplined and free from corruption. They are also expected always to love the motherland and to put the people’s interests above all others. With such a government, the aspiration of building an advanced, prosperous and prosperous nation can be achieved.

“Always love our motherland, always love our people. You are the children of the people. Be loyal to all our people, as if all the people were your own parents. Hold firmly to Pancasila,” he concluded.
