JAKARTA — President Prabowo Subianto has reminded Danantara’s leadership that the company’s return on assets (RoA) target to the state remains far from the target.

Currently, Danantara’s RoA falls below the target rate of 5 per cent of total projected assets of 16.8 quadrillion rupiah. The target is equivalent to 50 billion US dollars or 800 trillion rupiah annually.

This was conveyed by Prabowo whilst providing direction at Danantara Indonesia’s first anniversary celebration in Central Jakarta on Wednesday 11 March 2026.

“But I remind you the target is still quite distant. You must be able to provide a minimum 5 per cent return to the state, 50 billion dollars minimum,” said Prabowo on Wednesday evening.

This is because a well-managed company ideally has an RoA standard of 10 per cent, or even 12-15 per cent.

“We should have a good target of 10 per cent. If only 5 per cent return on assets (RoA), it means Danantara must return to the state 50 billion dollars each year. 50 billion dollars is…. Secretary of State, how much? (800 trillion rupiah). So Danantara’s leadership, your target is still distant,” he said.

Despite this, Prabowo is confident that Danantara can achieve the target. Moreover, Danantara’s RoA has increased by approximately 300 per cent in the past year.

“But we understand that it may not be achievable in the first years,” he said.

“That is fine, I am confident and believe the key to good management is in the heart and soul. For this reason, in this first year although I express my thanks, I express my congratulations on the achievements of your colleagues,” concluded Prabowo.
