Prabowo Reflects on Loyalty: Friends During Hardship and Power

President Prabowo Subianto touched upon the subject of loyalty and the various groups of people who serve as allies during his speech at the National Mandate Party (PAN) anniversary event.

Prabowo also expressed an emotional sentiment regarding his presence at the event, noting that many of his loyal companions were in attendance.

“I find it difficult to speak, in truth, because I am standing amongst loyal comrades-in-arms,” Prabowo said on Friday (18/9).

According to him, there are several classifications of friends, namely those who are loyal while in power and those who are not.

“Friends come in various groups, friends have various classifications; there are friends during joyful times, there are friends when we are in power, there are friends during beautiful times, and there are other types of friends, such as friends during our times of hardship. Thank you, friends of PAN,” he said.

Prabowo also touched upon the process of selecting allies or subordinates in leadership. He stated that the most important factor is loyalty, a principle he maintained during his time in the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI).

“So, in military science, in soldiering, when we are looking to select troops or subordinates, we consider many things, such as capability, but ultimately, it is said that the most important thing is loyalty,” he remarked.
