Prabowo Receives Singapore PM Lawrence Wong at Merdeka Palace

President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto received a visit from Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong at Merdeka Palace, Central Jakarta, on Monday (6/7/2026). This visit is part of the annual Singapore-Indonesia Leaders Retreat.

Lawrence and his delegation were observed arriving at the Presidential Palace area at 11:00 WIB. Prabowo immediately welcomed Lawrence on the western side of Merdeka Palace. Before entering the palace, the national anthems of both countries were played, followed by the introduction of their respective delegations.

The meeting was attended by Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM Rosan Roeslag, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of Defence Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, and the Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore Hotmangaradja Pandjaitan.

The two heads of government will also hold a face-to-face meeting. During this session, progress on bilateral cooperation implemented since the Leaders Retreat in Singapore in June 2025 will be reported. The event will conclude with a joint press conference followed by a state luncheon.

Previously, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that 26 agreements are expected to be signed as a result of this meeting. According to official statements, the Singaporean delegation includes Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong, Coordinating Minister for Public Services and Minister for Defence Chan Chun Sing, and Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan.
