Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto received a report from the Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM Rosan Perkasa Roeslani that investment realisation in the first quarter of 2026 amounted to Rp498.79 trillion from a target of Rp497 trillion. “That is an increase of 7.22 percent year-on-year, and it also absorbed Indonesian labour of 706,569 or 18.93 percent year-on-year,” said Rosan in response to reporters’ questions at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday (21/4) evening after meeting with the President. Rosan continued that from the total investment entering Indonesia, the amount of domestic capital investment and foreign capital was almost equal. “The domestic capital investment is approximately 49.89 percent, or nearly 50 percent, equal to the foreign capital investment. If the foreign investment is Rp249.94 trillion, and its composition is approximately 50.37 percent outside Java, and 49.63 percent in Java or Rp247.53 trillion,” said Rosan. He mentioned the top five countries as sources of investment, namely Singapore approximately US$4.6 billion, Hong Kong (China) US$2.7 billion, China US$2.2 billion, United States US$1.7 billion, and Japan US$1 billion. On the same occasion, Rosan also mentioned the sectors that received the most capital injections, namely basic metal industry or metal goods, other services, mining, housing, industrial estates, transportation, warehousing, and telecommunications. Rosan also conveyed that there is a significant increase in the target compared to the investment realisation entering in the last 10 years. “If we compare it over the last 10 years, from 2014-2024, it is approximately, over the last 10 years, the investment entering is approximately Rp9,100 trillion. Now, for 5 years from 2025-2029, the target given to us by Bappenas is more than Rp13,000 trillion. So, the increase is indeed significant, but Alhamdulillah, the targets can still be achieved, and we hope this can be maintained,” revealed Rosan.
