Prabowo Receives Report from Dudung on Defence Developments

President Prabowo Subianto received a report from the President’s Special Advisor on National Defence, retired General TNI Dudung Abdurachman, at Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday, 21 April 2026. The meeting between Prabowo and the former Army Chief of Staff was posted on the official Instagram account of the Presidential Secretariat. In the meeting, President Prabowo received a report regarding geopolitical dynamics. “As well as developments in the field of defence and security, while also providing strategic directives for future geostrategic steps,” as stated in the caption on the Instagram account @sekretariat.kabinet. Upon arriving at the Presidential Palace, Dudung said he had been contacted by phone by Prabowo’s aide from the previous night. “Last night I was called by the aide, that I was asked to meet the President at three in the afternoon,” Dudung said before the meeting with Prabowo. He suspected that the Head of State wanted to seek input and advice from him as the president’s advisor in the field of defence. He stated that he was ready to discuss national and international defence issues with Prabowo. “Usually, he likes to ask for advice and input from us as advisors,” said this former Commander of the Army Strategic Reserve Command or Pangkostrad.
