Prabowo Receives Report from Bahlil on Energy Security Programme
President Prabowo Subianto received the latest report from Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Minister Bahlil Lahadalia regarding the implementation of the government’s energy security programme. The meeting took place at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Monday afternoon. Bahlil stated that he also consulted with President Prabowo on routine matters within the ESDM Ministry. “I came to report to the President and to consult on routine ESDM tasks, concerning energy and also electricity,” Bahlil told reporters. The limited meeting between the President and the ESDM Minister lasted approximately 15 minutes. Afterwards, Bahlil departed the palace complex but noted he would return later to accompany the President during the state visit of Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul at Merdeka Palace on Monday evening. Following the meeting with Bahlil, the President proceeded to receive MPR RI Chairman Ahmad Muzani, who was accompanied by several deputy chairpersons, including Lestari Moerdijat, Bambang Wuryanto, Eddy Soeparno, Abcandra Akbar Supratman, Hidayat Nur Wahid, and Rusdi Kirana. Before entering the palace, Muzani explained that the MPR leadership’s visit was to maintain a cordial relationship with President Prabowo. “Today, our visit is to invite the President to the MPR Annual Session, which is planned to be held on Friday, 14 August,” Muzani said. The President is then scheduled to receive Prime Minister Charnvirakul for an official visit at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Monday at 4.30 p.m. Western Indonesian Time. Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya confirmed the arrival. “Later this afternoon, Thai PM Charnvirakul will arrive in Jakarta and will be received by President Prabowo at Merdeka Palace at 4.30 p.m. WIB,” Teddy said. This official visit marks Prime Minister Charnvirakul’s first to Jakarta since he was officially inaugurated as Thailand’s 32nd prime minister in September 2025, and the first by a Thai prime minister in 15 years.
