Prabowo Receives Prayers from Buya Yahya, Urged to Lead Indonesia with Strength

Jakarta, VIVA – A national leader bears a heavy responsibility in governing and safeguarding the welfare of the people. Accordingly, public support is not only in the form of criticism or input but also prayers. This is what the prominent Indonesian cleric Buya Yahya said when discussing the leadership of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto.

In a recent occasion, Buya Yahya urged all Indonesians to join in praying for Prabowo to be granted strength and ease in carrying out his duties as head of state. He said that the mandate borne by a president is not light.

The appeal was made when Buya Yahya attended a gathering that was also a silaturahmi and breaking of the fast held at the Presidential Palace Complex, Central Jakarta. The event was attended by various religious figures and leaders of Islamic organisations.

Prabowo Is to Be Prayed For, Buya Yahya Says

In front of reporters, Buya Yahya stressed that prayers from the public play an important role for national leaders.

‘The most important thing is prayer,’ Buya Yahya told reporters at the Presidential Palace Complex in Central Jakarta, on Thursday, 5 March 2026.

According to him, becoming president is not an easy task. A leader must make many important decisions with wide-ranging consequences for the lives of the people. Therefore, he believes that spiritual support in the form of prayers is greatly needed.

‘Being president is not easy, it’s heavy. We must pray for our leaders a lot, so that they can succeed in carrying out their duties. What matters is to pray,’ he said.

Prayers for the Good of the Nation

Buya Yahya also hopes that prayers from the public can provide additional strength for Prabowo in leading Indonesia. He believes sincere prayers can provide positive energy for a leader in carrying out their duties.

According to him, when a leader is able to discharge the mandate well, the impact will be felt directly by the wider public. Stability, peace, and welfare can be more easily realised if the leadership is effective.

‘Because leading is heavy, so pray that they are successful, that they prosper, that the people be peaceful and harmonious, with no discord,’ concluded Buya Yahya.
