Prabowo Receives Letter from Fifth-Grade Student Expressing Gratitude for the Free Nutritious Meal Programme

Thank you, Sir, for the free nutritious meal. I am happy to receive it because the food is nutritious.

Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto received a letter from a fifth-grade student at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) Darussalam in Sidoarjo, East Java, expressing gratitude for the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal Programme.

According to a statement from the Indonesian Government Communication Agency (Bakom RI), which was received in Jakarta on Saturday, the student, Muhammad Marfen from class V-D at MI Darussalam Sidoarjo, wrote a letter containing appreciation for the programme, which he is now experiencing at his school.

“Thank you, Sir, for the free nutritious meal. I am happy to receive it because the food is nutritious,” Marfen wrote in his letter.

The letter was received by President Prabowo Subianto during a working visit to Nganjuk Regency on Saturday (16 May), which also included the inauguration of the Ibu Marsinah Museum as a form of tribute to the labour activist and National Hero, Marsinah.

In the final part of his letter, Marfen expressed a simple wish to meet the President in person, including attending the 17 August commemoration ceremony at the State Palace.

“I would like to meet Mr. President by participating in the 17 August ceremony at the State Palace, because I can only see it on TV,” he wrote.

“Thank you, Mr. President, stay healthy,” Marfen wrote.

The Free Nutritious Meal Programme launched by President Prabowo’s administration targets students from early childhood education to senior high school levels, as well as pregnant mothers, breastfeeding mothers, and toddlers throughout Indonesia.

For Marfen and millions of other children, the programme is not just a lunch meal, but also a form of state attention that they can feel directly in their school environment.
