Prabowo Receives China's Minister of State Security

President Prabowo Subianto received a visit from China’s Minister of State Security, Chen Yixin. The meeting took place at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Friday, 27 March 2026.

“President Prabowo received the Minister of State Security (MSS) of the People’s Republic of China (PRC), Chen Yixin, at the State Palace, Jakarta,” according to a written statement from the Cabinet Secretariat on Friday.

On this occasion, according to the Cabinet Secretariat, Chen expressed China’s hope to build cooperation with friendly countries, including Indonesia. Chen conveyed that China wishes to maintain and enhance security stability in Asia and the world.

Welcoming the Chinese delegation, President Prabowo emphasised the importance of regional stability for Indonesia in supporting economic growth. Prabowo also welcomed Chen’s hope to enhance cooperation for the benefit of both countries.

In today’s meeting, President Prabowo was accompanied by the Head of the National Intelligence Agency (BIN), Retired General TNI Muhammad Herindra. “Enhancing good relations and cooperation between MSS and BIN in the future is part of the foreign policy of President Prabowo’s administration,” stated the Cabinet Secretariat.

According to the Cabinet Secretariat, Prabowo wants to strengthen Indonesia’s national security amid the dynamics of multipolar geopolitics. Prabowo desires to play a more active role in various dimensions of international relations.

In addition to the Chinese Minister of State Security, Prabowo also received a delegation from Malaysia at the Presidential Palace today. Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim also visited Prabowo.

Anwar previously landed at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, East Jakarta, on Friday afternoon. The Prime Minister was directly welcomed by Foreign Minister Sugiono. Anwar shared the moment of his arrival in Jakarta via his X social media account @anwaribrahim.

Anwar stated that his friendship with Prabowo would be fully utilised to discuss the situation of the conflict in West Asia. “And its implications for regional stability and the global economy, including the impact on Malaysia and Indonesia,” said Anwar.
