Prabowo Receives Call from Mahmoud Abbas, Reaffirms Support for Palestine

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto received a telephone call from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Jakarta on Monday (15/6/2026). The communication forms part of the close relationship between Indonesia and Palestine, which has long been built on a spirit of brotherhood, solidarity, and support for the Palestinian people’s struggle. Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya explained that President Abbas briefed Prabowo on the current situation in Palestine. During the call, President Abbas also conveyed his appreciation for the consistent support Indonesia has continued to provide to the Palestinian people. “President Mahmoud Abbas relayed the latest developments in Palestine and expressed his appreciation for Indonesia’s consistent, tangible support for the Palestinian people,” Teddy stated. He added that President Abbas also expressed his hope that Indonesia would maintain an active role in supporting the Palestinian people’s struggle amid current global dynamics. Teddy noted that Indonesia’s leadership under Prabowo holds an important position and attracts attention in various international forums. “President Mahmoud Abbas also expressed his hope that Indonesia will continue to play an active role in supporting the Palestinian people’s struggle. According to President Abbas, Indonesia’s voice and leadership under President Prabowo carry significant weight and receive widespread attention in various international forums,” Teddy said.
