Prabowo Receives Call from Mahmoud Abbas, Discusses Palestine Situation and Offers Support

President Prabowo Subianto received a telephone call from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Monday evening, 15 June 2026. During the conversation, President Mahmoud Abbas conveyed the latest developments in Palestine and expressed appreciation for Indonesia’s consistent and tangible support for the Palestinian people, according to Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya on the Cabinet Secretariat’s social media account on Monday (15/6/2026).

In the call, Abbas also conveyed the importance of Indonesia’s role in supporting Palestine on the world stage. Abbas expressed his hope that Indonesia would continue to play an active role in supporting the struggle of the Palestinian people. According to President Abbas, Indonesia’s voice and leadership under President Prabowo carry significant weight and attract widespread attention in various international forums.

Since serving as Indonesia’s Minister of Defence, Prabowo has consistently provided support to Palestine, including logistical aid, medical personnel, and schooling for Palestinian citizens. To Abbas, Prabowo reaffirmed his support for Palestine in pursuit of peace and justice. This includes the dispatch of logistics by air and sea, the deployment of hospital ships and medical personnel, the enrolment of 100 Palestinian children to study at the Defence University, and Indonesia’s firm support in various world forums. In response, President Prabowo reiterated Indonesia’s commitment to continue supporting the struggle of the Palestinian people and to encourage the realisation of a just and dignified peace.
