Prabowo Receives Belarusian President Lukashenko with State Ceremony

President Prabowo Subianto received Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko for a state visit at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta. Lukashenko’s arrival was greeted with a state ceremony. The welcoming ceremony commenced around 11.25 WIB as President Lukashenko’s motorcade entered the Merdeka Palace gates. The vehicle carrying Lukashenko was escorted by mounted troops and motorcycle outriders. A guard of honour lined the route from the gates to the palace pillars. Students also enlivened the welcome by waving Indonesian and Belarusian flags. President Lukashenko was also greeted with the Enggang Dance from East Kalimantan, a traditional dance of the Dayak Kenyah people symbolising respect for guests. Upon arriving in the palace courtyard, Lukashenko was welcomed directly by Prabowo. The two shook hands and shared a warm embrace. Prabowo and Lukashenko then proceeded to the ceremonial dais on the Merdeka Palace terrace. The ceremony began with the playing of the Belarusian national anthem, followed by the Indonesian national anthem. After the ceremony, the two heads of state inspected the guard of honour by touring the palace grounds. Before the flags of both nations, Prabowo and Lukashenko paused briefly to pay their respects. They then greeted the students lined up along the palace grounds before returning to the terrace to introduce their respective delegations. The welcoming proceedings continued with Lukashenko signing the guest book in the Credential Room of the Merdeka Palace. Prabowo and Lukashenko then held a tête-à-tête meeting, followed by a bilateral meeting with delegations from both countries. Lukashenko’s visit to Indonesia is a reciprocal trip following Prabowo’s visit to Belarus on 15 July 2025. This visit is also Lukashenko’s second to Indonesia, after 2013. The Indonesian delegation accompanying Prabowo in welcoming Lukashenko included State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Foreign Minister Sugiono, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of Investment Rosan Roeslani, Minister of Culture Fadli Zon, Minister of Agriculture Amran Sulaiman, Minister of Defence Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, and Presidential Secretary Rizky Irmansyah.
