Prabowo Receives Australian Deputy PM at Kertanegara, What Was Discussed?
President Prabowo Subianto received a visit from Australian Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Richard Marles. The meeting took place at Prabowo’s residence on Jalan Kertanegara, South Jakarta, on Wednesday, 11 March. The encounter between Prabowo and his long-time acquaintance was conducted in a warm and cordial manner.
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that the two exchanged views on crucial issues. Bilateral cooperation between the two countries was also discussed during the meeting.
“They had an informal conversation whilst exchanging views on important matters, and this meeting has become a symbol of closeness and strong cooperation between Indonesia and Australia,” Wijaya said via the Cabinet Secretariat’s Instagram account on Thursday, 12 March 2026.
Prabowo was accompanied by several ministers during the meeting, including Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Foreign Minister Sugiono, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
On the same day, Prabowo attended the thanksgiving ceremony and first anniversary celebration of the Danantara Investment Management Agency (BPI). At the event, Prabowo expressed gratitude that Indonesia possesses a body equivalent to sovereign wealth funds in the world.
“We are grateful that we now have a body that can be equated with sovereign wealth funds in the world. We are grateful that Indonesia now has a sovereign wealth fund that is perhaps the sixth or seventh largest in the world,” Prabowo said at Wisma Danantara in South Jakarta.
