Prabowo Receives Appreciation from Jordan's King for Commitment to the Two-State Solution

AMMAN, KOMPAS.com - President Prabowo Subianto received appreciation and a warm welcome from King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein for Indonesia’s commitment to advocating for a two-state solution for Palestine.

This appreciation was conveyed during a bilateral meeting between Indonesia and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan at the Basman Palace in Amman on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, local time.

According to King Abdullah II, Indonesia’s role is very important in creating peace in Gaza. He also said that Indonesia’s commitment to protecting Gaza is very courageous.

“I know that you are committed to bringing peace and tranquility, and once again your very courageous commitment to protecting the people of Gaza, I think is very important,” said King Abdullah II during the bilateral meeting at the Basman Palace on Wednesday.

This, he added, has deep meaning and warms the hearts of the Jordanian people.

“The role of your nation, I think, in all the challenges in the region is very important. I know how committed you are to the two-state solution, how much you value the future of the people,” he said.

According to him, Indonesia has a strategic position both politically and economically.

“I look forward to this discussion about how we can help our brothers and sisters in this effort,” he said.

For information, Indonesia and Jordan have had close diplomatic relations for decades, covering various strategic fields from defense to investment.

This historical closeness has further strengthened the fraternal relationship between the two countries.

“It is always good to meet you, especially in your second home in Jordan. I know that my people, your people, know that we have a very special fraternal relationship between us for many years,” concluded King Abdullah II.
