Prabowo Recalls Ma'ruf Amin's Fiery Speech at PKB Anniversary

President Prabowo Subianto reminisced about a firm speech delivered by former Advisory Council (Dewan Syuro) chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB), Ma’ruf Amin, while attending the party’s anniversary celebration, remarking that it was fiercer than his own.

“I remember at last year’s PKB anniversary, the first to give a speech was Kiai Ma’ruf. That speech was fiercer than mine,” said Prabowo at the Jakarta Convention Centre (JCC) on Thursday.

Prabowo noted that Ma’ruf Amin’s everyday physical appearance was very gentle, yet he transformed into someone firm and direct when standing at the podium to defend the constitution.

Beyond recalling Ma’ruf Amin, Prabowo also praised PKB’s shrewdness, noting that it is always the first political party to invite the President to its anniversary celebration each year, ahead of other coalition member parties.

“Over the course of a year, why is PKB’s anniversary always the first to invite the president? Sorry, Golkar,” Prabowo added.

The President expressed appreciation for PKB’s treatment of him, which he considered always astute in presenting things that left the President flattered.
