Prabowo Recalls Ma'ruf Amin's Fiery Speech at PKB Anniversary

President Prabowo Subianto recalled the moment former Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Syuro Council Ma’ruf Amin delivered a firm speech, which he considered even more fiery than his own. “I remember last year at PKB’s anniversary, the first to give a speech was Kiai Ma’ruf. That speech was more ferocious than mine,” Prabowo said at the Jakarta Convention Centre (JCC) on Thursday. He noted that Ma’ruf Amin’s daily physical appearance was very gentle, but he transformed into a firm and straightforward figure when on the podium fighting for the constitution. In addition to reminiscing about Ma’ruf Amin, Prabowo also praised PKB’s perceptiveness, noting it always becomes the first political party to invite the president to its anniversary celebration each year, ahead of other coalition members. “In this annual season, why is PKB’s anniversary always the first to invite the president? Sorry, Golkar,” Prabowo added. The President appreciated PKB’s treatment of him, which he said was always astute in presenting things that made the president feel honoured.
