Prabowo Rebukes Those Calling Indonesia Dark: Their Eyes Are Dim
President Prabowo Subianto has once again criticised those promoting the ‘Indonesia Gelap’ narrative. He described this group as individuals who lack objectivity in viewing Indonesia.
“Those who say it’s not bright, those who say Indonesia is dark, perhaps their eyes are not good. Their eyes and hearts— what can we do with people whose hearts are not sincere; if their eyes are dim, then Indonesia is dark,” Prabowo stated during the inauguration of the electric commercial vehicle assembly plant owned by PT VKTR Sakti Industries in Magelang, Central Java, on Thursday (9/4).
Prabowo holds the opposite view. He believes Indonesia’s future is bright. According to him, Indonesia will emerge as a strong nation capable of standing on its own feet.
Prabowo believes Indonesia will become increasingly strong and capable moving forward.
“Our growth is good; next year we will create a surprise for the entire world. Indonesia is rising; this giant is waking up. We will no longer be the sleeping giant. We are rising,” he said.
This statement is not the first time; Prabowo has previously criticised those who claim Indonesia is dark.
Prabowo conveyed this during a briefing at a working meeting attended by ministers of the Merah Putih Cabinet, Echelon 1 officials from ministries and agencies, Directors General/Deputies, and CEOs of state-owned enterprises at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, on Wednesday (8/4).
Prabowo refuted the narrative that had been trending on social media some time ago. He assessed that Indonesia’s current condition is actually bright while many countries are struggling.
“I am confident; there’s no such thing. For me, there’s no dark Indonesia; Indonesia is bright at a time when many countries are in difficulty,” he said.
