Prabowo Reaffirms Support for Free Market Mechanisms
It is once again untrue that I oppose free market mechanisms. I do not oppose free market mechanisms, I simply understand that free markets can be abused.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto affirmed that the government does not oppose free market mechanisms, but remains present to guarantee the welfare of the people in accordance with the principles of Pancasila and a spirit of national unity.
While inaugurating the Marsinah Museum and a halfway house in Nganjuk Regency, East Java, on Saturday, Prabowo invited entrepreneurs to support the welfare of the Indonesian people through a spirit of togetherness.
“Once again, it is untrue that I oppose free market mechanisms. I do not oppose free market mechanisms, I simply understand that free markets can be abused,” said Prabowo, as monitored online from Jakarta.
Therefore, the government intervenes to ensure the welfare of vulnerable communities through affirmative policies to protect the people.
On this occasion, Prabowo also mentioned the case of the death of labour activist Marsinah. He believes that entrepreneurs who are only focused on maximizing profits are not in line with the founding principles of Indonesia.
“Therefore, now that I am leading, I want to uphold our Constitution. I want to uphold Pancasila, that Indonesia is a nation of unity. To all entrepreneurs, I invite you to work together to become Indonesia Incorporated,” he said.
“All the people of Indonesia have the right to this wealth, and all leaders are responsible at every level to fight for this with all the strength and courage they have,” said Prabowo.
