President Prabowo Subianto reaffirmed Indonesia’s position on the Palestinian conflict during a meeting with King Abdullah II of Jordan at the Basman Palace, Amman, on Wednesday (25/2). In the bilateral meeting, Prabowo stated his strong support for the two-state solution as a way out of the ongoing conflict.

“Yes, Indonesia is committed to doing whatever we can to achieve a lasting solution, and in our view, the only truly sustainable solution is the two-state solution with an independent Palestine,” Prabowo said, as quoted in a press release.

This statement reaffirms Indonesia’s consistent diplomatic stance of promoting Palestinian independence through the two-state framework. Before King Abdullah II, Prabowo also mentioned that Indonesia is ready to be involved in various international initiatives aimed at finding a long-term solution.

He referred to Indonesia’s participation in the Board of Peace and its support for the 20-point plan initiated by US President Donald Trump.

“That is why when we were invited to join the Board of Peace and we supported the 20-point plan from President Donald Trump, it was all done with the aim and effort to do whatever we can to achieve that lasting solution,” Prabowo explained.

In addition to the Palestinian issue, the meeting took place in a warm atmosphere. Prabowo expressed his appreciation for the reception given by the Jordanian government and said that the country was like a second home to him. He also conveyed special greetings to the people of Jordan during Ramadan.

“On behalf of Indonesia and personally, I would also like to wish Ramadan Mubarak to the people of Jordan,” Prabowo said. (E-4)
