President Prabowo Subianto stated that there are parties claiming to be experts who frequently engage in slander. He reminded the public that slander is more heinous than murder, as stated in Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 191.

Prabowo made these remarks during his speech at the 28th anniversary celebration of the PAN party in Jakarta on Friday, 18 September 2026.

“PAN also has a religious base; if I am not mistaken, there is a hadith that says slander is more heinous than murder, is there? Is there? Surah Al-Baqarah Verse 191, slander is more heinous than murder. There are some experts who, in their extreme expertise, launch slander,” said Prabowo.

On the other hand, Prabowo stated that he does not mind being slandered and is even willing to forgive those who do so. However, he reminded those with intelligence and expertise to remain truthful.

“If they are aware, I will forgive them, but I remind them: if you possess intelligence, if you possess expertise, do not forget that a scholar must be honest; that is called intellectual honesty. Especially when you are serving the interests of other nations,” Prabowo added.

On this occasion, Prabowo stated that almost all political parties share the same values of struggle and aspirations, namely to realise a just and prosperous Indonesia. He noted that nearly all parties desire prosperity for the Indonesian people.

“I know the people in those parties as well. Certainly, we all want Indonesia to be just and prosperous, everyone. We want our people to be prosperous,” he said.

The Head of State emphasised that since the age of 18, he has been sworn to be ready to die for the country and the nation. Prabowo reaffirmed his desire to defend Indonesia to ensure the nation is honoured and its people are prosperous in the future.

Prabeway expressed his wish that no one in Indonesia should go hungry, that no parents should be confused when their children fall ill, and that no Indonesian children should go to school hungry.

“There should be no Indonesian children suffering from stunting due to lack of nutrition, resulting in weak bones, weak muscles, or weak brain cells, making them unable to compete with children from other nations. I do not want to see that. That is not my oath,” he said.

Prabowo reaffirmed his oath to see Indonesia prosper.
