Prabowo Pushes to Elevate Indonesia-Japan Partnership at Tokyo Business Forum
Tokyo — President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto attended the Indonesia-Japan Business Forum held at the Imperial Hotel Tokyo on Monday (30/03/2026). This forum serves as an important momentum to strengthen the strategic cooperation between the two countries in the fields of economy, investment, and future industrial development.
At the forum, President Prabowo affirmed that Japan is an important partner for Indonesia. The cooperative relationship between the two countries has been established for a long time, particularly through consistent Japanese investments that support Indonesia’s economic development in various sectors.
President Prabowo also conveyed that Japan is not only an investment partner but has also gained a deep understanding of Indonesia’s societal conditions, market, culture, and economic potential. This is considered a strong asset in strengthening the long-term cooperation between the two countries.
On that occasion, Prabowo emphasised that his presence at the business forum is not only to maintain existing relations but also to elevate the Indonesia-Japan partnership to a higher level and move it forward more rapidly.
He stressed that Indonesia is open to international collaboration, especially with Japan, which has strengths in technology, work methods, and industrial experience. According to him, combining Japan’s strengths with Indonesia’s resource potential and economic growth will create mutually beneficial relations.
The Indonesian government hopes that this cooperation can continue to develop, particularly in supporting the development of future industries and strengthening Indonesia’s position in the global economic chain.
