Indonesia and France are currently building various strategic partnerships across key sectors. To strengthen this relationship, President Prabowo Subianto has made another visit to France as part of efforts to deepen bilateral ties.

During his third visit to France, Prabowo reiterated his desire to enhance existing cooperation, including expanding investment flows between the two nations.

“I welcome the establishment of the France-Indonesia High-Level Business Council,” he said, according to the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube channel on Thursday, 28 May 2026.

Prabowo also noted that French companies’ presence in Indonesia has made significant contributions to the national economy, expressing his delight at continued growth in French business participation.

“We will be very pleased to see French companies’ participation and presence continue to grow within Indonesia’s economy,” he added.

He further stated that France, as a major European power, is expected to continue playing a key role in Southeast Asia’s regional dynamics.

The President’s visit to France is seen as strengthening Indonesia’s position in Europe, particularly in bilateral relations with France, with the two countries’ cooperation described as complementary in global affairs.

As part of the visit agenda, Prabowo performed Eid al-Adha prayers and met with the Indonesian diaspora at the Indonesian Embassy in Paris on Wednesday, 27 May 2026.

Following this, he continued state affairs with the French government to strengthen diplomatic ties and strategic cooperation between the two nations.
