Prabowo pushes for regulatory reform to create jobs
Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto is pushing for regulatory reform and the acceleration of business permitting to create jobs and strengthen the national economy. “All officials from all ministries/institutions should find ways to improve the system, reduce inefficiencies, simplify permitting, and not make it difficult. Entrepreneurs also complain; they want to work and invest, but sometimes they wait for permits for one year, two years,” said President Prabowo while attending the handover of administrative fine proceeds and state financial recovery at the Attorney General’s Office, Jakarta, on Wednesday. The President then asked State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi to form a special task force for deregulation to simplify various overlapping regulations. He emphasised that entrepreneurs who operate correctly must be given full support to create jobs and strengthen the national economy. “Entrepreneurs must be helped and supported. We will discipline the naughty ones, but those who are good, who really want to work, must be assisted. Many foreign investors also complain that in Indonesia, permitting is often very slow and numerous,” he said. The President invited the entire government apparatus to continue improving the system and increasing efficiency for the prosperity of the people. “Believe me, soon our money will be sufficient. In fact, with allocations like this, we can already do a lot, and we will do more than this,” said President Prabowo.
