Prabowo Purchases 868 Kg Jumbo Cow from Buleleng Breeder for Rp 162 Million
Ketut Sukata was overjoyed after his 868-kilogram jumbo cow was bought by President Prabowo Subianto. The breeder from Banjar Dinas Pondok, Petandakan Village, Buleleng, Bali, was surprised as the Bali cow was paid for at Rp 162.4 million.
Sukata revealed that a team from the Buleleng Agriculture Office initially checked three of his cows. After a strict selection process, one cow was approved and secured by the State Secretariat Ministry as a sacrificial animal purchased by President Prabowo for Idul Adha.
“First, three cows were checked, then submitted as candidates. On Friday, I was informed that the deal was done,” said Sukata on Wednesday (13/5/2026).
Nevertheless, Sukata still had to complete the administrative process. He was directed to go to Denpasar on 19 May to handle the sacrificial animal transaction.
“The payment hasn’t been made yet; on the 19th, I’ll go to Denpasar to sign,” he stated.
Sukata recounted that he bought the cow for Rp 11 million when it was six months old in December 2022. At that time, the Bali cow’s weight had not yet reached 100 kilograms.
Every day, Sukata cared for the cow and fed it fresh grass and bran. If its health condition declined, Sukata provided additional vitamin supplements to keep the cow in prime condition.
This was not the first time Sukata’s cow had caught the Palace’s attention. His livestock had previously been bought by Indonesia’s 7th President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). Currently, Sukata still keeps four cows in his pen.
“I am very moved and grateful. This is a pride for me,” Sukata added.
