Prabowo Proposes Destry Damayanti as Sole Candidate for BI Governor

President Prabowo Subianto has sent a letter to the House of Representatives (DPR) regarding the candidate for Governor of Bank Indonesia (BI). This was conveyed by Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi to reporters at the Nusantara III Building, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday (10/8/2026). “The name is a single name, Mrs Destry Damayanti,” he revealed. Destry is the Acting Governor of BI who has been serving since Perry Warjiyo stepped down. The President’s letter also includes a candidate for Senior Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia.
