Prabowo Proposes Candidate for Head of Strategic Mineral and Commodity Exchange to OJK Board
Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, has stated that the DPR RI has received a Presidential Letter (Surpres) regarding the candidate for Chief Executive of Strategic Mineral and Commodities Exchange Supervision on the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority (OJK).
He made the announcement during the 2nd Plenary Meeting of the DPR RI for Session Period I of the 2026-2027 Sitting Year at the parliamentary complex in Jakarta on Tuesday, 18 August 2026. The presidential letter sent to the DPR is numbered R-38.
“Dated 10 August 2026, regarding the Candidate for Chief Executive of Strategic Mineral and Commodities Exchange Supervision on the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority,” said Dasco.
However, he has not yet announced the name of the candidate who will lead the Strategic Mineral and Commodities Exchange.
In addition, he also revealed that the DPR RI received Presidential Letter Number R-33 on 14 July 2026, concerning a request for DPR RI approval for the sale of state property, namely one decommissioned vessel, the Republic of Indonesia Warship (KRI) Ki Hajar Dewantara.
He further conveyed that the DPR RI has received a presidential letter regarding candidates to replace the Governor of Bank Indonesia (BI), the Senior Deputy Governor of BI, and the Deputy Governor of BI. Regarding the BI leadership, this matter had previously been announced by Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi.
Dasco stated that these letters have been and will be followed up in accordance with the applicable mechanisms, provisions, and laws and regulations.
“They will be followed up in accordance with DPR RI Regulation Number 1 of 2020 concerning the Rules of Procedure and applicable mechanisms,” he said.
