Jakarta — The chairman of the Housing Task Force, Hashim Djojohadikusumo, has reaffirmed President Prabowo Subianto’s directive that state-owned enterprise (BUMN) land in Jabodetabek shall not be sold at market prices and must be prioritised for public housing development.

This was stated by Hashim at the launch of housing development in support of the 3 Million Homes Programme at Manggarai, Jakarta, on Monday, 16 March 2026.

According to Hashim, Prabowo has emphasised that BUMN land is fundamentally owned by the Indonesian people. Therefore, its utilisation must be directed towards the interests of the community.

Hashim said that Prabowo has conveyed this directive on several occasions.

The younger sibling of Indonesia’s number-one leader also cautioned against parties attempting to profit from the housing development programme by exploiting strategic locations.

According to him, there are parties offering schemes to obtain large quantities of apartment units in strategic areas for subsequent resale at multiplied profits.

Hashim stressed that such practices must not occur in the implementation of the 3 million homes programme.

He therefore also requested that the quality of public housing development be given proper attention to prevent the public from being disadvantaged.

Additionally, he encouraged stricter oversight to prevent irregular practices such as mark-ups and construction that does not meet standards.
