President Prabowo Subiability has stated that Indonesia is set to receive large-scale investments in the next few weeks.

While Prabowo did not specify the companies, countries of origin, or the particular sectors involved, he expressed confidence following meetings with several major global business players. These investors reportedly view Indonesia’s economic fundamentals as remaining strong despite global economic volatility.

“In the coming weeks, just wait, there will be massive investments entering Indonesia,” Prabowo said in a written statement on Wednesday (16/09/2026).

According to Prabowo, this investor interest is reflected in the ongoing realisation of investment. As of June 2026, realised investment has reached Rp 1,010 trillion. Throughout 2026, the government has recorded the creation of approximately 1.4 million jobs.

Prabowo emphasised that these investments represent capital injections entering Indonesia through market activity rather than being part of a government programme. He noted that global investors are considering several Indonesian economic indicators when deciding to commit capital, including inflation, the debt ratio, and the budget deficit.

Prabowo stated that Indonesia’s inflation stands at 2.92%, while the budget deficit remains below 3% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP). He added that his meetings with major global players demonstrated a clear interest in Indonesia, driven by the perception that the nation’s economic fundamentals are relatively strong and secure.

This optimism arrives as developing nations compete to attract global investment flows. For Indonesia, the influx of investment is crucial as it not only boosts economic activity but also holds the potential to create further employment opportunities.

Prabowo also highlighted Indonesia’s significant long-term economic prospects, citing Goldman Sachs projections which estimate that Indonesia could become one of the world’s largest economies by 2050.
