President Prabowo Subianto praised the Integrated Environment and Education-Based Waste Processing Site (TPST BLE) in Banyumas, Central Java. He stated that the processing is carried out using equipment that is not too sophisticated, but effective.

“I am very impressed and thank you, Mr Regent and the Head of the Service; this is a very good breakthrough initiative that we are doing—in other words, waste processing using technology that is not too sophisticated, but effective,” said Prabowo after inspecting TPST BLE in Kaliori Village, Banyumas, Central Java, on Tuesday (28/4/2026).

“Most of the products are local, in a chain system from households to the district, so this is very effective,” he continued.

Prabowo said TPST serves as an example for other provinces and districts. He mentioned that many other countries visit the site to learn about the waste management system.

“It serves as an example for many provinces and districts; even from other countries, some come here. So I received a report from the Governor of Central Java that many districts have already followed, there are 13, yes,” he stated.

Prabowo said the government continues to promote waste management systems in all provinces. Prabowo is ready to provide direct assistance to develop effective waste management systems.

“So this from the central government will promote it, and I will allocate direct assistance for us to develop, improve, and develop it to make it more effective— the regent’s promise. By the end of 2028, zero waste,” he said.

The TPST BLE currently operating can process around 574.52 tonnes of waste per day, or 77.76% of the total household and similar waste generation in Banyumas Regency, which reaches 738.84 tonnes per day. Thus, the unprocessed waste remaining is 164.32 tonnes per day, or 22.24%. The waste at the site is processed into organic pellets, plastic granules, paving blocks, and roof tiles.
