Prabowo Praises Supreme Court's Speed in Resolving Cases and Constitutional Court's Digital Access
President Prabowo Subianto has praised the achievements of the judiciary, particularly the Supreme Court’s speed in resolving cases and the public’s increasingly easy access to the Constitutional Court.
Prabowo made the remarks in his state address at the 2026 Annual Session of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) and the Joint Session of the Regional Representatives Council (DPD) and the House of Representatives (DPR) at the MPR/DPR building in Senayan, Jakarta, on Friday.
Prabowo said the Supreme Court (MA) handled 38,148 cases throughout 2025 and decided 37,973 of them, achieving a productivity rate of 99.54 percent.
According to the President, 96.74 percent of cases at the Supreme Court were resolved in less than three months. This achievement marks the highest timeliness rate in the Supreme Court’s history.
“This is the highest timeliness achievement in the history of the Supreme Court. We extend our appreciation to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and his staff,” Prabowo said.
Meanwhile, Prabowo noted that the Constitutional Court (MK) handled 701 cases and petitions throughout 2025, including 334 disputes over regional head election results. A total of 598 cases and petitions have been decided.
Prabowo also highlighted the transformation of the Constitutional Court’s services, which has made it easier for people in various regions to access the constitutional justice process.
As of 23 July 2026, 84.51 percent of petitions to the Constitutional Court were filed online. With this mechanism, people from Aceh to Papua do not always have to travel to Jakarta to submit a petition.

The Judicial Commission also proposed sanctions against 121 judges found to have violated the code of ethics, including 14 moderate sanctions and 17 severe sanctions.
“We must uphold the supremacy of law and the independence of judges,” Prabowo said.
On Friday, the MPR, DPR, and DPD held the Annual Session of the MPR and the Joint Session of the DPR and DPD, one of the agendas of which was President Prabowo Subianto’s address for the delivery of the performance report of state institutions and the state address of the President of the Republic of Indonesia in the context of the 81st anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Indonesia.
In addition to the speech, the government will also screen a video of government performance achievements.
This annual session is a state agenda to welcome the 81st anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Indonesia, which carries the theme “A Sovereign, Just, and Prosperous Indonesia”.
