Prabowo Praises Pramono: I Admit He is Great, Even Though He is Not From My Party

President Prabowo Subianto has praised Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung for the successful development of the new Kelapa Gading-Manggarai LRT route, stating that he recognises Pramono’s greatness.

Prabowo made these remarks during the inauguration of the Kelapa Gading-Manggarai LRT route at Manggarai LRT Station on Wednesday (16/09/2026). The President noted that he would acknowledge any governor who achieves significant results, regardless of their political party.

For context, Prabowo and Pramono belong to different political parties; Prabowo represents Gerindra, while Pramono is from the PDIP.

“I think that is from me, yes. I shouldn’t speak for too long now. The point is, congratulations and thank you, Governor. I must admit that if there is a great governor, I will admit they are great. Even if… even if they are not from my party,” said Prabowo, which was met with laughter from the invited guests.

Prabowo requested that this level of achievement should be emulated by other political parties. He expressed his hope that regional heads from other parties would take this as a positive example and work correctly.

“But this must encourage other parties, right? So, please work properly. Thank you,” he added.

Prabowo concluded by offering his congratulations to both Pramono and Jakarta Deputy Governor Rano Karno, expressing his delight in using the LRT service.

“Congratulations Mr Pramono, congratulations Doel. But you are no longer a street kid, are you? Congratulations, I am very happy today. Riding the LRT is very pleasant, it is extraordinary,” he remarked.
