Prabowo Praises Police Role in Supporting Free Nutritious Meals Programme

President Prabowo Subianto has praised the contribution of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) in supporting the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) project. Prabowo expressed this while serving as the inspector of ceremonies for the Bhayangkara Day commemoration on Wednesday, 1 July 2026.

The Chairman of the Gerindra Party noted that Polri has established more than one thousand nutrition fulfilment service units (SPPG), also known as MBG kitchens.

“I do not hesitate to say here that the kitchens built by Polri are the best kitchens. And this is not just my word. Many observers and reviewers from international organisations have come to Indonesia to inspect these kitchens, and many of those they have seen are Polri’s kitchens,” said Prabowo in the Cikeas area, Bogor, West Java, on Wednesday morning.

Prabowo also appreciated Polri’s active involvement in supporting his government’s programmes. He assessed that Polri has played a role in national food security, particularly through the development of corn production and the construction of food warehouses in various regions.

“I have seen for myself that Polri is building much-needed food warehouses, warehouses of very high quality,” said Prablagwo.

On that occasion, the Chief of National Police, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, stated that the police institution will continue to assist the government’s food security programmes. He mentioned that Polri will increase the number of MBG kitchens and intensify corn planting programmes.
