President Prabowo Subianto has expressed his appreciation to National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo for mobilising his personnel to work together in building bridges for the people. To date, the National Police have built and renovated 895 ‘Merah Putih Presisi’ bridges. ‘I also believe that General Listyo Sigit reached the highest peak in the police force deservedly, because of his achievements, dedication, and ability,’ Prabowo said during the inauguration, as seen on the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube channel on Thursday (13/8/2026).

Prabowo also conveyed his gratitude to the Police Chief, both in his capacity as President of the Republic of Indonesia and personally. He noted that the government and the police force have worked hand in hand to carry out duties that benefit the people. He specifically highlighted the police’s work reaching remote areas and villages, with officers working day and night under challenging conditions.

‘You have grasped the meaning of being a leader. You have understood the joy of being able to do something meaningful for our people, especially our most remote people, especially our people in the villages,’ he said. ‘Today you have reported carrying out thousands of efforts in areas that are not easy. The people themselves acknowledge that your men, your soldiers, the police officers, have worked day and night, during difficult times, in difficult weather. You have achieved very fundamental things,’ Prabowo continued.

Prabowo stressed that the state’s presence must not only be felt by people living in centres of life and economy. He said that people in remote areas must also enjoy a good quality of life. ‘We might be able to carry out more brilliant projects, and we need massive investment, but we have just understood and we must always understand that the state must be present for the most remote people. People who are far from the major centres of life must enjoy a good quality of life,’ he stated.
