President Prabowo Subianto has expressed his appreciation for Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) General Maruli Simanjuntak, who took the initiative to involve his soldiers in building bridges and clean water sources for the people. Prabowo had observed this initiative even before Maruli assumed the highest position in the army.

"You have taken the initiative before I actually gave instructions; you have already been working. I have been monitoring for several years, since I was Minister of Defence, I have monitored the initiatives carried out by all of you," Prabowo said, as seen on the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube channel on Thursday (13/8/2026).

"General Maruli, before becoming Army Chief of Staff, before holding the highest office in the Army, I have monitored you taking good initiatives," he added.

Prabowo advised all soldiers not to underestimate any form of service rendered. He believes that such service will be remembered by the people.

"All of you, even though you may not feel it, all good deeds, all good service by individuals, by officials, by leaders, are actually monitored, observed, recorded, and remembered by the people. Remember that," he stated.

Therefore, Prabowo assessed that Maruli’s journey to becoming the officer with the highest position in the Army was something worthy and appropriate. According to him, this is inseparable from the dedication and contributions Maruli has demonstrated during his service.

"Because of that, I also think that a soldier like Maruli Simanjuntak becoming the highest-ranking officer in the Army is fitting, based on his work and dedication," Prabowo concluded.
