Prabowo Praises Danantara Performance Up 300 Per Cent, But Warns Target Still Far Away

President Prabowo Subianto cautioned senior managers at Danantara Indonesia not to become complacent with the holding company’s first-year operational achievements. Whilst appreciating the performance improvements, Prabowo assessed that the targets requiring achievement remain substantially distant.

The statement was delivered by Prabowo during remarks at Danantara’s first anniversary celebration in Jakarta on Wednesday, 11 March. According to reports received, the return on assets rate in 2025 had increased significantly compared to preceding years following consolidation through Danantara.

“I received a report and I am quite pleased that the return on assets in one year—2025—compared to previous years has already risen more than 300 per cent,” he stated. “This is quite good and demonstrates our premise for establishing Danantara. That sound management is impossible unless everything is under one control, one hand, one management.”

He identified a realistic near-term target of approximately 5 per cent return on assets. “If there is only 5 per cent return on assets, that means Danantara must return USD 50 billion to the state each year,” he said.

Prabowo added that this figure equates to approximately 800 trillion rupiah that could return to state coffers annually. “USD 50 billion is 800 trillion rupiah. So Danantara leadership, your target is still far away,” he remarked.

The head of state also emphasised that every report submitted to him must be accurate and aligned with existing reality. Prabowo stated he did not wish to receive reports intended merely to please him.

“Do not play games with me with false reports. Pleasant reports, reports as a ruse—I am giving you a stern warning on this,” he concluded.
