Prabowo: Power Is a Trust to Uphold Justice
PRESIDENT Prabowo Subianto has affirmed that leadership is not merely a political office, but a sacred trust to uphold justice and protect the people. He made this statement whilst delivering remarks at the state-level Nuzulul Quran commemoration at the State Palace on Tuesday, 10 March.
In his address, the Head of State stated that leadership forms part of a destiny containing great responsibility. Power, he said, is not an end in itself, but a means to advance what is right.
“The more I understand that leadership is a destiny and power originates from the Almighty and is given as a mandate to defend truth and justice,” said Prabowo.
According to him, power is also a duty to protect the people’s welfare and ensure justice is felt by all society.
Prabowo viewed the Nuzulul Quran commemoration as an opportunity for the public to revisit the values contained in the Quran, particularly when confronting various life challenges.
“This Nuzulul Quran commemoration, I believe, is an opportunity for each of us to understand and appreciate the meaning of what is taught in the Quran,” he said.
He also valued the messages conveyed during the event’s speeches as carrying significant importance for the wider public.
Prabowo expressed appreciation to religious scholars and community leaders who continue to provide counsel and reminders to leaders.
“I am grateful and thankful on this evening. I continue to receive lessons, reminders, and renewed resolve,” Prabowo concluded.
