Prabowo: Post-Disaster Recovery Nearly 100%, Residents Have Left Tents
President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto stated that the post-disaster recovery process in Aceh Tamiang Regency, Aceh Province, has been proceeding according to plan and is now nearly 100% complete. The affected community members are no longer occupying evacuation tents.
This was conveyed by the President after performing Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah prayers in the courtyard of Masjid Darussalam, Aceh Tamiang, on Saturday (21/3/2026).
“The message is that recovery is very swift. Alhamdulillah, nearly 100%. There are no more people in the tents. 100% have left the tents and entered temporary housing or permanent residences,” said Prabowo in an official statement.
Not only that, he continued, the condition of infrastructure in the affected areas is gradually improving, including the electricity supply which is almost fully back to normal.
“Alhamdulillah, the situation is getting better. Electricity is almost all operational. Nearly 100%. Only five villages out of all of Aceh. Only five villages that are indeed difficult,” he said.
And, he added, assistance from the government has been distributed to the affected community.
“Yes, all assistance has been delivered to the people. Alhamdulillah. Thank you,” he said.
On that occasion, the President also expressed appreciation to all personnel and apparatus involved in disaster management in Sumatra.
“I am very proud, thank you to all personnel, all apparatus from TNI, Polri, BNPB, PU, local government, all ministries and agencies that have worked extraordinarily. They have worked extraordinarily to help the people in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. And in other provinces. Good, thank you,” Prabowo concluded.
