Prabowo Poses with French Security Detail Before Departing Paris
A warm moment marked the conclusion of President Prabowo Subianto’s state visit to Paris. Not in a meeting room or formal forum, but on the apron of Orly Airport, just before Prabowo departed for home. According to the Presidential Secretariat, Prabowo departed from Orly Airport on Friday, 29 May 2026. Amid departure protocols before boarding the aircraft, Prabowo took time to approach French security personnel who had been tasked with ensuring the smooth running of his entire schedule during the state visit. In an amicable and warm atmosphere, Prabowo invited them to take a group photo as a gesture of appreciation for their dedication and professionalism. Smiles and mutual respect were evident during the encounter. Also present for the photo session was Eléonore Caroit, France’s Minister for Francophonie, International Partnerships, and French Citizens Abroad, who attended on behalf of the French government to bid farewell to President Prabowo. Beyond taking photos, Prabowo also personally thanked the French security detail. This simple gesture reflected his appreciation for their service and highlighted the strong friendship forged during the state visit. The warm moment at Orly Airport concluded the official state visit to France. During his stay in Paris, Prabowo undertook several engagements to strengthen Indonesia-France bilateral relations. His agenda began with a state welcome ceremony at Les Invalides and a bilateral meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace. During the visit, he also performed Eid al-Adha prayers with the Indonesian community and diaspora in Paris.
