Prabowo: Police Successfully Maintain Zero Terrorism Incidents, a Commendable Achievement
President Prabowo Subianto served as the inspector of ceremony for the 80th Bhayangkara Day at the Police Mobile Brigade (Brimob) training centre in Cikeas, Bogor, West Java. Prabowo commended the Indonesian National Police (Polri) for successfully maintaining a record of zero terrorism incidents over the past few years. “Successfully maintaining zero terrorism incidents over the past few years,” Prabowo said in his address on Wednesday. “This is an achievement we must appreciate,” he added. However, Prabowo cautioned the police force against complacency. He urged Polri never to be easily satisfied. “But I also say and remind you, do not be careless. Never be easily satisfied,” he stated. Prabowo noted that significant challenges remain ahead, including poverty, which he described as a direct consequence of corruption, smuggling, and illegal economic activities. “The challenges are still great, our people are still suffering. Poverty. And this poverty is a direct result of corruption, smuggling, and illegal economic activities,” he said. Prabowo emphasised that these are collective challenges. “Therefore, your challenges, our collective challenges, are still great and many,” he remarked. The Indonesian National Police held the 80th Bhayangkara Day commemoration at the Brimob training centre in Cikeas, Bogor, West Java. President Prabowo Subianto led the ceremony, which was also attended by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, ministers of the Merah Putih Cabinet, former President Joko Widodo, and former Vice President Jusuf Kalla. The event, themed ‘80 Years of Polri’s Service to the Community’, involved approximately 9,000 participants from the police force, the military, and various community elements.
