Prabowo Pledges to Build Fishermen's Villages and Renovate Schools in Miangas
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto has pledged to build fishermen’s villages, renovate schools, and improve healthcare facilities in Indonesia’s outermost region, Miangas, Talaud Regency, North Sulawesi.
Prabowo stated that the development of fishermen’s villages will be carried out by the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP).
In addition, Prabowo emphasised that the government will undertake a major renovation of educational facilities, not only in Miangas but throughout Indonesia.
“All schools will be renovated this year, and over the next two to three years, all schools in Indonesia will be renovated,” he said.
During the visit, Prabowo also highlighted the condition of several community health centres in Miangas, which he said have not been renovated since the era of President Soeharto. He assured that healthcare facilities in the area will be improved soon.
