Prabowo Pledges Investigation into Fatal Collision Between KA Argo Bromo Anggrek and KRL
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - President Prabowo Subianto stated that the government will promptly conduct an investigation into the collision between KA Argo Bromo Anggrek and the KRL Commuter Line that took place on Monday evening (27/4/2026).
“We will soon carry out an investigation into how the incident happened,” Prabowo told reporters at the Bekasi City General Hospital in West Java Province on Tuesday morning (28/4/2026).
Prabowo arrived around 08:40 WIB and left the hospital around 09:05 WIB. Speaking to reporters waiting outside RSUD Kota Bekasi, Prabowo conveyed his condolences.
“Of course, we are all saddened and shocked by the accident that has occurred. I extend my condolences on a personal note and on behalf of the government,” he said.
The President Director of PT Kereta Api Indonesia, Bobby Rasyidin, revealed that the number of fatalities from the tragic incident was seven people. Meanwhile, 81 passengers who sustained injuries are currently receiving treatment. In addition, three passengers remain trapped inside the train carriages as of now.
