Prabowo Pleased with Danantara's Return on Asset Surge to 300%

President Prabowo Subianto expressed gratitude that Indonesia possesses the State-Owned Enterprise Management Body (Badan Pengelola Investasi Daya Anagata Nusantara - Danantara). According to him, Danantara has already contributed a series of successes to Indonesia.

One of these successes lies in managing state wealth in the form of state-owned enterprises (BUMN). Prabowo stated that in 2025, Danantara achieved an increase in return on assets of up to 300 percent.

This was revealed by Prabowo at Danantara Indonesia’s first anniversary celebration. He attended the event in person at Wisma Danantara in South Jakarta on Wednesday (11 March 2026).

“I received a report, and I am quite pleased. The return on assets for 2025 compared to previous years has increased by more than 300 percent. This is quite good,” said Prabowo in his speech at Danantara.

For context, return on assets is a profitability ratio that demonstrates a company’s success in generating profit, which can then be projected for the future.

He also expressed gratitude that Indonesia now has a sovereign wealth fund that ranks among the top 10 globally. He stated that Danantara might be the world’s sixth or seventh largest wealth management institution.

“We are also grateful that management over this past year has proven that with good management, with proper administration, especially with the right will—with political will, with the right spirit—results are already visible,” said Prabowo.

According to him, a series of successes that have occurred demonstrate that the establishment of Danantara has been successful. Particularly regarding the management of state-owned enterprises, he argued that with such a large number of companies, there needs to be one management entity that is effective so that the nation can benefit from the results.

“This proves the premise behind our establishment of Danantara. That good management is impossible without centralised control, under one hand, under one management. It is impossible for us to manage 250 companies. In fact, I only recently discovered it is not 250, but more than 1,000 companies,” said Prabowo.

“There is no management lesson anywhere in the world where one management can handle 1,000 entities,” added Prabowo.
