Prabowo Pleased with Danantara's 300% Return on Asset Increase in One Year

President Prabowo Subianto expressed pride in the achievements of the Investment Management Agency for Future State Enterprise (BPI Danantara), particularly its return on asset (RoA) increase of more than 300 per cent in 2025 compared to the previous year.

The President made these remarks during his address at Danantara’s first anniversary celebration at Wisma Danantara in Jakarta on Wednesday, 11 March 2026.

“I have received a report and I am quite pleased that the return on assets for 2025 compared to the previous years has increased by more than 300 per cent,” Prabowo stated.

The Head of State urged that such reports be accurate and cautioned against fabricated figures. “Do not submit false reports to me. Do not make pleasant reports designed to deceive. I am issuing a stern warning on this matter,” he said.

If the reported figures are accurate, Prabowo expressed gratitude, noting that the achievement demonstrates how sound management combined with political will and moral integrity produces positive results. “This proves the premise behind establishing Danantara—that good management cannot exist without unified control, singular direction, and consolidated administration,” he explained.

However, Prabowo stressed that current achievements remain inadequate. He outlined benchmarks for corporate performance: good companies achieve a minimum 10 per cent RoA, excellent companies attain 12 per cent, and outstanding companies reach 15 per cent RoA.

Prabowo set a target for Danantara to achieve 5 per cent RoA from its managed assets worth US$1 trillion, requiring the agency to generate US$50 billion or approximately Rp800 trillion annually.

“Therefore, Danantara’s leadership, your targets remain distant. Nevertheless, I am confident and believe that the foundation of sound management lies in the heart and spirit. For this reason, whilst I express gratitude and congratulations on your first-year achievements, I must remind you that targets remain quite far ahead. You must deliver a minimum 5 per cent return to the state—US$50 billion minimum,” Prabowo concluded.
