Prabowo Plans to Begin Construction of 21 Downstreaming Projects and 29 WTE Sites This Month
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto targets the laying of the first stone or groundbreaking for 21 downstream projects in April 2026. These projects are part of a series of government strategic programmes prepared to strengthen the industrial sector while promoting national economic growth. “Including the 21 downstream projects, I ask for prayers and blessings, God willing, in April this year, all can be carried out with groundbreaking,” said the State Secretary Minister (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi at the Presidential Palace Complex, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (8/4/2026). “The Waste to Energy programme, which was originally in 33 districts/cities, but due to field adjustments, it is likely to become 29 points. God willing, in April this month, all will have groundbreaking done,” Prasetyo added. Prasetyo emphasised that the government is currently focused on executing various development programmes that have been planned in the Government Work Plan (RKP), National Long-Term Development Plan (RPJP), and Medium-Term National Development Plan (RPJMN). “I think we are focused on working to implement the programmes that have all been outlined in the RPJP, RPJMN, or RKP, the annual government work plan,” said Prasetyo.
